Complexity must fall in 2018
Over the past few years, we have had the privilege of developing a relationship with Dommisse Attorneys as our law firm, and also a client.
Their sound legal advice and support has been invaluable as Yellow Door Collective has transformed from a fledgling start-up to a successful digital marketing agency.
Working on their brand has also been a great experience for our team – from developing their CI and website to conceptualising and implementing a holistic marketing strategy.
After numerous discussions about our respective brands, as well as our clients’ brands, we’ve realized that post-investment start-ups often need a lot more support and strategic input than they get. This is due to a myriad of factors – ranging from budget and time constraints, to naivety and/ or a limited network or ability to identify the best possible role players. The bottom line is that the right team, structure and processes need to be in place before you achieve financial success.
So, in true Yellow Door style, we’ve come up with a solution. Together with Dommisse Attorneys and finance guru John Futter, we have developed a workshop to give businesses direction and useful tools to kick start 2018 in a simple, effective way. It will be divided in to three parts: law, finance and marketing. Here is a sneak peek of what to look forward to in each one:
Dommisse Attorneys will be sharing a few tips, tools and lessons on all things start-up law. From how to protect your intellectual property to things to look out for during funding negotiations and common pitfalls to avoid early on.
John will explain how to report to all users, from banks through to sophisticated funders, by starting with systems that grow as your business increases. His aim is to get everyone to embrace their accounting acumen to grow their business using information that is beneficial to them.
Dom and I will unpack marketing trends that you can’t afford to ignore, with practical suggestions on how to use them to tell your brand story and get tangible results. We will cover videos and live content, influencer marketing and targeted advertising.
