What to expect from YDC in 2018
2017 was a tough year for Yellow Door; but we learnt some valuable lessons and our brand is stronger for it.
With guidance from a couple of wonderful mentors, Dom and I have mapped out a new game plan for 2018. Here is a sneak peek of what to expect:
First up, we are changing our own roles within the business to play to our strengths. I will focus primarily on strategy and new business development; while Dom is going to adopt a general manager position.
This will enable us to expand the business, without neglecting our current client base. We plan to pitch to medium - large businesses that understand the value of strategic marketing efforts, and are looking for a digital agency to take their brands to the next level.
When I mentioned this idea to a long-standing client, his response was ‘I think that you going out and finding new clients can only benefit what is already an amazing success story for you, Dom and YDC; I really feel a surge of pride whenever I see your brand.’
It’s this type of feedback that makes the long and sometimes stressful days as a business owner completely worth it. Strong relationships with clients have always been a cornerstone of our business, and will remain so going forward.
We also plan to streamline our in-house service offering, to focus on what we do best. Project management, strategy and content creation are at the top of this list.
By collaborating with freelancers, consultants and other specialised agencies, we will continue to offer a full range of marketing services. And by taking the role of lead agency, we will ensure that all work is done to the high standard our clients have come to expect from us.
When it comes to adopting the latest trends, short videos and live content will be integrated into almost every campaign and project that we work on. Advertising campaigns will be more targeted, and influencer marketing will be a game changer. Our team will also spend more time on industry research and internal strategy sessions, to ensure we are constantly one step ahead.
