In 2016 we wrote new website copy for the main AAT site, as well as The Boma and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge sites.

Asara is an award-winning wine estate and 5-star hotel in the heart of the Cape Winelands. They offer warm hospitality, luxury accommodation, friendly, attentive service and the finest in food and wines. Among its many features are breath-taking views and a tranquil atmosphere.

Cloud 9 Boutique & Spa
Nestled in the foothills of Table Mountain, Cloud 9 Boutique Hotel & Spa is the epitome of sophistication paired with comfort. The hotel connects five beautiful heritage properties through a central reception and secluded courtyard. They also offer a rooftop bar with spectacular 360-degree Table Mountain views.
We managed all their online communications, which included strategy, social media posts, blog post content and events management.
Da Vincis is a lively and friendly restaurant located at the top of Kloof Street. Situated in the area for over a decade, the restaurant is loved by locals and tourists. Chris Parsley, the owner of Da Vincis, is passionate about food and bringing fantastic service, great food and a cheerful vibe to his customers.
We are proud to be Da Vincis marketing arm, working side by side with Chris and his team to develop new ideas for their digital marketing. We thoroughly enjoy growing their brand online, and providing monthly retainer services.

Deluxe Laser & Spa offers high-end treatments using the latest technology, at very reasonable prices. Health and beauty solutions include 100% painless hair removal, wrinkle reduction, body contouring, facials and massages.
We assisted with overall strategy, generated their social media content, wrote and designed their newsletter, blog posts and managed all media liaison and PR campaigns.
Over five hours of design and editing was done to create an EPK for Katerine, and certainly over five litres of coffee and tea was consumed. The biography of Katherine, written by Emma, is used on the actress’s IMDb profile and the EPK focused not only on Katherine, but also on the movie ‘Solitary’.
Even with the time differences and never meeting face-to-face with the client, the project was a pleasure to work on, and went by with no bumps.
Long Street Hotel
Long Street Boutique Hotel gives guests an escape from the bustle of the city street and encapsulates them in a light, airy oasis. The hotel offers scenic views of Long Street paired with a glimpse of Table Mountain. Their team of staff are dedicated and passionate about their offering.
We partnered with Long Street Hotel to offer them a collection of online services, which included strategy, social media content creation and writing articles for their website.
Louise Day Band
A singer and performer since the age of ten, Louise is fully committed to a career in music. She spent a year touring the US with Fender, representing its new range of guitars specifically for women. As a brand ambassador for the music instrument company, she found herself playing festivals across the States, alongside names like John Mayer, The Fray and The English Beat. She is an avid runner and has been featured in Runner’s World, Grazia, People and Longevity magazines. With a soul full of rhythm and a head full of lyrics, she is always looking toward a bright future.
In 2016 Louise Day expanded her music offering by offering a solo, duo, trio or full band option to clients, under the brand Something Borrowed. We gave input on her marketing strategy, created newsletters and did PR for this talented artist.
LuvsLOCAL is a one-stop online directory of local gems – a collection of shops, products, service providers and businesses in the Cape Town and surrounding areas. LuvsLOCAL offers packages at different price points, for artisans and entrepreneurs to sign up and be discovered.
We partnered with Josieluvslocal - a local Instagram blogger - and built the website, established a roll-out strategy, designed the packages and organised a workshop to launch the brand. We continue to give strategic input and work closely with Jo and her team.
Luxury Safaris offer all-inclusive, tailored African travel and safari experiences. With relationships with over 20 luxury lodges and hotels and numerous activity hubs and game reserves, their guests are treated to a five-star African experience with tailor-made packages to meet their every need. Visiting five out of the nine provinces, guests are able to get a feel of South African culture.
We redesigned their website and managed to grow their social media presence significantly. Our monthly tasks included social media posts, writing blog posts, PR, newsletters and SEO.
Michael Olivier is a renowned Cape food and wine commentator with a real passion for the industry. He spent his childhood on a wine farm in Durbanville and trained at The London Cordon Bleu Cookery School.
Michael has worked in and managed well-known places such as Lanzerac Hotel in Stellenbosch, and he was Public Relations Manager for the top marque wine estate Boschendal. Having run three restaurants, and being featured in the national top ten restaurants, he is now a food and wine writer, published author and broadcaster.
We give Michael strategic input on his website and digital marketing, and exploring collaboration opportunities where our services dovetail and complement each other.

We have given strategic input on core messaging, designed banners and other marketing collateral, and drafted social media adverts for the launch of the brand.
Pure Soul Wellness
Pure Soul Wellness is founded by the bubbly and knowledgeable Joann Farkas, who is an accredited Holistic Counsellor, Kinesiologist and Usui Reiki practitioner. Having established their online brand in November 2015, Joann has grown her fan base significantly through constant blogging.
In November 2015, YDC was asked to build a website for Joann, which both reflected her personal taste and passion for Kinesiology. The end product was one that both her and our team were incredibly happy with.
Deemed the most adventurous horse race in the Southern Hemisphere, Rocket Horse recently launched an annual event called Race the Wild Coast. The four-day endurance race features the best riders and stud horses from around the globe, all competing for the renowned title.
A few weeks before the race kicked off, we came on board to help Rocket Horse with their social media marketing efforts. During October 2016, we created updates, engaged with other brands on social media and posted live updates during the race. We grew their Facebook followers by 479% - from 172 to 996, and their Twitter followers from 16 to 76 – 375%.
Sarah Graham is a celebrated South-African based cook, food writer and international TV show host. She has inspired people across Africa and globally to see food and cooking as something to explore and have fun with, while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle and making time for all the other important things in life.
As we are all enthusiastic foodies at heart and great fans of her philosophy and work ethic, we welcomed the opportunity to assist Sarah with overall strategy, general design and style direction, website content, writing and designing her newsletters, and generating social media content in 2017.

This locally produced craft gin from l’Agulhas is made with triple distilled Pinotage Grape Spirit infused with 21 botanicals. It has soft floral notes, hints of fresh citrus and subtle aromatic spices.

In 2015 we gave the Surf Lodge team both strategic and hands-on input into their marketing - from improving their website to writing regular blog posts and social media updates.

Wembley Square is a lifestyle centre in Gardens, run by Redefine Properties, which includes retail space, commercial offices and a residential block. The block is popular because it's home to Virgin Active, Vida e Caffe and a host of restaurants, as well as the Wembley Spa. There are over 180 apartments in the Wembley complex.
We created a stylish website for the lifestyle centre which includes information on all the shops, restaurants and services in the building as well as a useful map of the complex. We also managed the process of moving the site from the previous to the current host.
Xperiencemakers is a Cape Town based Interior Architecture and Design Studio, established in 1999. Their expertise lies in tailor-making timeless spaces – drawing on their practical design thinking, passion for creating and acute attention to detail.
