Q&A with Debbie Hall

Reading time: 2 minutes

Having worked in the FMCG Manufacturing industry in International Sales and New Product Development for many years, I am very excited to start a new chapter with Yellow Door! I studied a Business Science (Marketing) Degree and after graduating I spent two years in London, before settling back in the beautiful city of Cape Town. I love good food, yoga and spending time with my family.

What is your position at Yellow Door?

Project Manager

What part of your job do you enjoy most?

I love being part of a dynamic, creative team and working on varied and interesting projects.

What part of your role do you find the most challenging?

Juggling tasks to make sure the most important work is prioritised and deadlines are met.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Yellow Door team?

Yellow Door has such a positive, supportive and productive energy. It is a happy place to work.

What do you do when you’re stuck for inspiration?

I like to step away from the task and go for a walk, or ideally a yoga class. A pause and a cup of coffee helps too!

What is your pre-work routine?

I am a mom of two little girls, so our mornings are a bit of a scramble to get everyone ready and out for the day. After the school drop-off I enjoy a cup of coffee to help shift into work mode.

If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?

Wonder Woman – she is brave, independent and can do it all.

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?

A visit to the beach, or a walk in nature and then time with family, friends and good food.

What music do you like to listen to while working?

Anything goes depending on my mood – just nothing too heavy!

Introvert or extrovert?

An extrovert, who needs down time to re-charge.

Cats or dogs?

So hard to choose – both!

Shoes or barefoot?

What’s your favourite spot in Gardens?

Lazari – it always has a friendly vibe.
