Cape Fish Pty Ltd offers a wide range of seafood products for distribution to restaurants and wholesale buyers. They run a state-of-the-art HACCP certified processing facility with onsite blast freezing, holding freezer, chiller and processing rooms. This allows the business to process and package orders to client’s specific requirements throughout the year. In addition, Cape Fish offers an unparalleled retail experience at their fish and seafood retail store in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. Their focus is to provide world-class quality, convenience and customer service – in an inviting, clean and modern environment.


However, when level 4 and 5 lockdown hit, by April their main revenues streams had come to an abrupt halt, drastically reducing sales. It was crucial to keep Cape Fish’s doors open, cover operational costs and ensure staff were paid, so we were asked to step in over the Easter weekend and set up an online order form for home deliveries.

This form was integrated into the website and captured orders for packing and delivery.


It has been a great success so far: turnover has increased, customers are leaving glowing reviews, and their entry into the e-commerce world has opened new avenues and generated business growth, instilling confidence to go fully e-commerce. Their new online store is due to open in July 2020.

By developing a home delivery form and promoting home deliveries on social media platforms, Cape Fish has been able to add an entirely new service offering and communicate this to their customers at lightning speed. This has not only increased their turnover by opening up a new sales avenue, but also the overall awareness of their brand.

We learnt that we could help our client reach a greater segment of their target audience, even when times are tough and time is of the essence.
