What is your position at Yellow Door?
I am the personal assistant to director and strategist Emma Donovan.
What part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I may have only started at Yellow Door two days ago, however, I love the atmosphere and the team is so welcoming. Emma is a delight to work for and I look forward to the next few months learning and obtaining key insight to the world of marketing.
What part of your role do you find most challenging?
Right now, it is information overload and multiple different platforms to familiarise myself with, which is quite tricky. As Emma says, “Make a priority list, not a to do list” which is a great way to look at the work ahead.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Yellow Door team?
Everyone is so welcoming and willing to help which makes the work environment enjoyable. I really enjoyed our Monday meditation; it a great way to set good intentions for the week and the day.
What do you do when you are stuck for inspiration?
When I feel stuck, I turn to Jay Shetty for inspiration and positivity, he is a wonderful purpose coach and great source of inspiration. The last post I read of his, which resonated with me is: A 12 step guide to finding more meaning to life. Once I realign my thoughts, the creative juices flow.
What is your pre-work routine?
I love to work out first thing in the morning which gets me excited about the day. After that it is breakfast featuring my favourite playlist while ‘belting’ every song imaginable.
If you could be a superhero, who would you be and why?
I would 100% be Cat Woman. She is intelligent, dangerous, agile and speedy, all whilst looking fierce in an all-black costume.
What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?
I love spending my weekends outdoors, appreciating what the world has to offer. My all-time favourite is sundowners at Bakhoven with my gorgeous friends.
What music do you listen to while working?
I get easily distracted by music and will often end up jamming to the song rather than working! So I tend to play songs that embody our surroundings such as the ocean, nature and chimes.
Introvert or extrovert?
I am an extrovert, a chatter box for sure.
Cats or dogs?
I love dogs, we actually own 18 dogs! We are one big crazy and eventful family,
Shoes or barefoot?
Shoes, I love fashion and getting all dressed up. I will always be on the look-out for new shoes to pair with an outfit.
What is your favourite spot in Gardens?
I adored Jessy’s Waffles was truly sad to see her go. I found a lovely new vegan café in the same square called Grumpy & Runt, do yourself a favour and check them out. The best doughnuts I have ever eaten.
