Q&A with Laurisa

Laurisa Lubbe has just moved down to Cape Town to join the Yellow Door team from the quaint town of Port Alfred. She’s a marketing graduate with a business operations background, so she’s ready to get stuck in to managing the projects and partnerships we have here at Yellow Door. You can learn a little more about her in her Q&A below.

What is your position in the YD team?

I’ve just joined the team as an account manager.

What part of your job do you enjoy most?

The collaboration. It’s exciting to see great minds collaborate to create amazing projects.

What part of your role do you find the most challenging?

I haven’t had any challenges yet but looking forward to learning from each one.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the YD team?

The team is so kind and caring. I’ve immediately felt at home and part of the team the minute I walked through the door.

What do you do when you’re stuck for inspiration?

I’m either on Instagram finding ideas or taking a walk to get the creative thoughts flowing.

What is your pre-work routine?

First things first, get the coffee brewing.

I like to take 10 minutes to skim through any news headlines and social media to check up on the world.

Finally, grab a morning snack and get started.

If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?

The Wasp! I love the idea that she can shrink down and fly anywhere. Free air travel!

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?

Depends on the weather. I like to take advantage of a beautiful day and spend my time outdoors. But on the colder days I love to watch the latest series or movies.

What music do you like to listen to while working?

It depends what mood I’m trying to get in to. My playlist varies from 80s soft rock like Def Leppard all the way to modern bubble-gum pop.

Introvert or extrovert?

I’m an introvert until I feel comfortable in my environment and then I become more extroverted and will come out of my shell.

Cats or dogs?

I have four Border Collies at home so I’m mostly a dog person. But I love that cats are so mysterious.

Shoes or barefoot?

Shoes all day in the city until the moment I step on to the beach or into my home.

Pizza or salad, or neither?

Why not both? Pizza with salad on the side!

Please fill in your details and we will contact you to book your workshop.
